It's hard to see in the picture, but the flames are actually on. I understand it's rare to have a gas meter and have a fireplace working before the 4-way inspection, but I asked the inspector if he could inspect just the gaspipe, and he did. This will be a nice spot to warm up hands, feet, and buns during cold days.
